Programi për Romët

Fondacioni i Shoqërisë së Hapur për Shqipërinë, do të vazhdojë të japë kontributin e tij në përparimin e çështjes rome. Puna do të vazhdojë tashmë me një program të vecantë, Programi për Romët, për të ndihmuar këtë pjesë të popullsisë shqiptare që të gëzojë ato të drejta humane që i takojnë. Shoqëria shqiptare duhet të ndërtojë aftësi dhe kapacitete për të kuptuar çështjet komplekse të romëve dhe për të krijuar mënyra efektive dhe të shtrira në kohë për të punuar me romët.

Prioriteti stratregjik i Fondacionit do të jetë rritja e mundësive për Komunitetin Rom, duke sjellë cështjen rome në krye të axhendës sociale dhe përmirësimi i aksesit të romëve në arsimim dhe në shërbimet publike bazë.

Fondacioni nëpërmjet Programit për Romët do të ndërhyjë për:

I- Nxjerrjen e çështjes rome në qendër të vëmendjes së shoqërisë shqiptare dhe advokimin për ndryshime dhe përmirësime sistemike
- Mbështetjen e organizatave të shoqërisë civile për ndërtimin e funksionimin e një rrjeti për monitorimin e implementimit të programeve të qeverisë për Dekadën rome dhe romët.
- Zhvillimin dhe rritjen e kapaciteteve të OJQ-ve rome; përmirësimi i aftësive lobuese dhe advokuese të drejtuesve dhe aktivistëve rom.
- Forcimi i të kuptuarit për të drejtat e njeriut dhe sensibilizimi i organizatave jofitimprurëse, për  të monitoruar zbatimin e ligjit dhe akteve nënligjore, me qëllim harmonizimin me standartet ndërkombëtare  për të drejtat e minoriteteve (përfshi Romët).
- Situata e Romëve në Shqipëri. Evidentim i situatës në të cilën vjen Programi për Romët, si një vlerësim dhe guidë për veprim.

II- Rritjen e mundësive të ushtrimit të së drejtës për arsim dhe përmirësimi i aksesit të romëve për shërbimet bazë publike.
- Rritje e përfshirjes së komunitetit Rom në procesin e vendimmarrjes; vecanërisht në fusha që lidhen direkt me përmirësimin e gjendjes së tyre, si në edukim, shëndet, ujë i pijshëm, cështje higjeno- sanitare dhe ujrave të zeza.
- Mbështetje e programeve sistemike që synojnë të lehtësojnë integrimin e fëmijëve rom në sistemin arsimor publik; programeve që inkurajojnë ndjekjen e shkollës dhe parandalimin e braktisjes së shkollës, vecanërisht për pjesën me të varfër të popullsisë rome.
- Ndihmë për përmirësimin e kushteve të grupeve më vulnerabël të popullsisë rome, sic jane gratë, të rinjtë dhe të moshuarit; programe ndërgjegjësuese dhe edukuese për të rritur njohjen dhe për të kuptuar liritë dhe të drejtat e tyre.
